Review Criteria
What do I base my reviews on?
My reviews consist of five components.
Spoiler-Free Summary: I usually begin with information freely given in the first couple of chapters that are solely part of the world-building aspect or setting the scene for the story to unfold. Does not infer where the story will lead.
Style: did I enjoy the writing style.
Plot: how engaged was I in the story.
Character: did I like the characters. did they affect the story in meaningful ways.

What do I base my star ratings on?
1 Star: Books that have no place on my bookshelf. Struggle to get through. Lacked Structure, boring or unlikeable characters.
2 Stars: Books I will not be rereading and didn’t entirely enjoy, but weren't completely terrible. Wasn’t good but wasn’t completely bad. Maybe appreciated an aspect or two but overall lacked too much.
3 Stars: Books that I feel neutral about. Maybe a little underwhelmed or indifferent. Mostly enjoyed but didn’t leave any lasting appreciation for the book. Didn’t like a few components such as simple storylines, basic characters, or obvious endings. Three stars show appreciation for the book but no glorification.
4 Stars: Books I enjoyed from start to end and would recommend for others. Will likely want to reread in the future. Pleased with most components of the book and thoroughly enjoyed at least something about it. Great books, just missing the cherry on top.
5 Stars: Books I am sad to finish and find myself thinking about continually afterward. I didn’t want to put the book down as i am reading it. Amazing characters, or at least one or two that are all time favorites. Great plot, world-building, and thematic ties.
